What Is Wii Ware?
Nintendo planned and developed mini games and application for the Nintendo Wii. These Mini games and applications are also called channels and are known as Wii Ware. The Wii Ware can only be purchased and downloaded from the Wii Shop Channel. The Wii Shop Channel can be found under the WiiWare and Channels section. In Europe Wii Ware was called Wii Software.

Wii Ware is being advertised as a way for game developers with low funds to be able to release their inventive, unique and no doubt smaller scale games without huge investments and the jeopardy of their games going retail. This can be compared to the already existing Xbox Live Arcade and also the PlayStation Store.

Nintendo says that the "remarkable motion controls will give birth to fresh takes on established genres, as wellas original ideals that currently exist only in developers' minds". Nintendo will be in charge of the pricing for all of the downloadable games through Nintendo WiiWare. Additionally, Wii Ware must be purchased using Wii Points.
